Sunday Ehigiator Former Zamfara State Governor and Senator representing Zamfara West, Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, has denied allegations that he sponsored protests against President Bola Tinubu’s administration, calling the claims false, reckless, and politically motivated. In a statement from Hon. Abdullahi Abdulkari, Yari said that reports claiming he was financing protests against the federal government were fabricated and should be ignored by the public. The statement further asserted that Yari has no connection to any planned protest against the Tinubu administration, insisting that the allegations stem from those intent on spreading misinformation and engaging in character assassination. It also noted that Yari has remained a steadfast supporter of President Tinubu, investing considerable political capital and resources in backing his presidential ambitions and the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The statement emphasized that the relationship between Yari and Tinubu is based on mutual respect, shared political convictions, and a commitment to Nigeria’s progress and stability, noting that Tinubu has publicly acknowledged Yari’s loyalty and contributions to the APC and the Renewed Hope agenda on several occasions. It argued that it would be illogical for a politician who has committed so much to the administration’s success to sponsor protests that undermine that government. The statement further described Yari as a statesman whose political philosophy centers on dialogue, constructive engagement, and democratic participation, stressing that he has never been associated with faceless groups or sponsored agitation. The statement said recent attacks on the former governor were the work of individuals uncomfortable with his growing political profile, his relationships with key stakeholders nationwide, and his unwavering support for President Tinubu. It added that the recurring allegations reflect the desperation and insecurity of their sponsors rather than any wrongdoing by the senator. The statement reaffirmed Yari’s commitment to the Tinubu administration, asserting that the country’s challenges require collective effort, patience, and constructive engagement instead of divisive propaganda. It also said Yari remains focused on his legislative duties, the welfare of his constituents, and the broader national interest, and will not be distracted by the antics of political merchants who thrive on falsehood and sensationalism. The statement urged Nigerians to disregard the report entirely, insisting that no propaganda or political blackmail could diminish the longstanding relationship between Yari and Tinubu or divert him
