The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) reported power outages in parts of Kano, Katsina and Kaduna states after a strong windstorm knocked down 13 electricity poles.

In a statement released on Wednesday, KEDCO said the storm caused the collapse of 13 poles along feeder lines that supply electricity to several communities.

The outages affected Dandume in Katsina State; Rogo, Sundu, Falgore, Tudun Wada, Saya Saya, Kadawa and Hago in Kano State; and Ikara in Kaduna State.

"The windstorm damaged 13 electricity poles along affected feeder lines, resulting in power interruption in the affected areas," the company added.

KEDCO apologized to residents for the disruption and confirmed that repair work is underway to restore power as quickly as possible.
