William Osula, a target of the Super Eagles, has been linked with a departure from Premier League club Newcastle United ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, Afrik‑Foot reports.

The Denmark‑born striker joined the Magpies from Sheffield United in the summer of 2024, but has had to wait for regular minutes under Eddie Howe because of the strong competition for places.

Even after Newcastle’s high‑profile signings last summer, Osula has gradually become one of the side’s preferred attacking options in recent fixtures this season.

The Nigeria‑eligible forward has recorded five goals in 22 appearances for Newcastle this season and recently started five consecutive games, netting three times during that run.

William Osula: Super Eagles target makes stance clear on Newcastle United future

Newcastle United forward William Osula has now taken a firm position on his future at the Premier League club amid growing transfer speculation ahead of the summer window.

According to Football Insider, the 22‑year‑old is content to stay at Newcastle United and is not seeking a move, believing he can play a key role for the team next season.

Osula has been linked with a departure from St James’ Park after several clubs expressed interest in recent weeks. German giants Bayern Munich are reportedly eyeing the young attacker as a long‑term replacement for England captain Harry Kane, while Eintracht Frankfurt is also said to be keen after Newcastle turned down earlier approaches.

Premier League sides such as Everton and Aston Villa have also shown interest, but Osula’s recent declaration could prompt those clubs to look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements.

Uncertainty about his future arose last summer when Newcastle signed Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart and Yoane Wissa from Brentford. At one point, Osula was close to joining Eintracht Frankfurt, but that move collapsed, leaving him at Newcastle.

Since then, the 22‑year‑old has maximised his chances and is being tipped to play a major role for the club moving forward. Although Newcastle are expected to add more firepower in attack this summer, Osula is regarded as an important component of the club’s plans, with any new striker likely to provide competition and depth.

The Super Eagles‑eligible forward will also aim to finish the season strongly in Newcastle’s remaining two matches and add to his goal tally ahead of what could be a breakthrough campaign next season.

After the season concludes, Osula is expected to decide on his international allegiance, with Nigeria awaiting his response following an approach made last month to persuade him to switch from Denmark.
