During the commissioning of an interchange on Arterial Road N16 – Ring Road III, which connects Jahi District to Gwarimpa District in the Federal Capital Territory, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, commented on a statement by the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The ADC had released a press statement saying that Nigerians “won’t eat roads alone.” Wike replied that the ADC had acknowledged President Bola Tinubu’s achievements in road infrastructure.
He emphasized that a reliable road network is essential for development, noting that without roads people cannot travel to school, farm, or hospital.
President Tinubu was represented at the ceremony by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, marking the president’s third anniversary in office.
Wike said: “I received the ADC’s press release to the Presidency that we are not going to eat roads alone. Beautiful, ADC has agreed that in terms of road infrastructures, Mr President has done very well.”
He added: “Let us start with the one that indeed Mr President has done very well. Let them also know that without road you can’t go to school, farm, and hospital. Road is the bedrock, engine of development in any part of this world.”
