‘Why I always release movies to mark my birthday’

By Benjamin Njoku

Actress Georgina Ibeh celebrated her 35th birthday last Friday and, in keeping with a personal tradition, she released a new film to commemorate the occasion.

Her latest feature, “A Mother’s Stand,” is now available on her YouTube channel, Georgina Ibeh TV, and has already begun resonating with viewers. The film follows the release of earlier projects such as “Fruit of My Labour” and “When Love Blurs,” which also attracted attention on the platform. Last year, her movie “Abeni” amassed more than 1.4 million views on YouTube.

Ibeh shared her enthusiasm about launching a new movie on her birthday, noting that she has been doing so for the past four years.

The story centers on the challenges faced by single mothers and their victories. It follows a woman who refuses to abandon her daughter when her mother‑in‑law demands it in order for her to marry a single father.

“Behind every strong single mother is a story of sacrifice, resilience, sleepless nights, and unwavering love. Her struggles may be unseen, but her strength speaks volumes,” she told NollyNow.

Known for bringing real‑life experiences to the screen, Ibeh describes the film as “relatable” and believes it will strike a chord with anyone who has endured love and betrayal. The movie was released directly to YouTube to reach her audience immediately.
