Wedding guests and party delegates clash at opposition convention in Abuja

Wedding guests and delegates of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) national convention clashed at an event centre in Abuja on Saturday.

Daily Post reports that the confusion erupted at the Chelsea Hotel in the Central Business District of Abuja.

An eyewitness, Mohammed Abbas, told Daily Post that ZLP delegates had arrived at the hotel venue only to find an ongoing wedding reception.

The situation forced the delegates to remain outside while the convention is on hold until the wedding reception concludes.

Neither the ZLP executives nor the hotel management have yet issued an official statement on the incident.

Chief Dan Nwanyanwu is the national chairman of ZLP.
