Arsenal F.C. supporters across Nigeria erupted in celebration after the North London club secured their first Premier League title in 22 years.
Videos shared on social media showed jubilant fans in cities including Lagos, Abuja, Benin and Port Harcourt dancing in the streets, waving Arsenal flags and setting off fireworks to mark the historic triumph.
At popular viewing centres and sports bars, supporters sang club chants and embraced one another after Arsenal were confirmed as champions, ending a long wait since their famous “Invincibles” season of 2003/2004.
The celebrations also drew reactions from several Nigerian celebrities. Singer Chike joined in the excitement, while comedian Remote shared his delight over the title win. Musicians Falz and Seun Kuti also celebrated Arsenal’s long‑awaited success.
Popular cleric Pastor Dolapo also joined the celebrations, offering an apology after previously predicting that Arsenal would not win the league.
Many fans described the victory as a reward for years of loyalty and heartbreak, having stood by the club through several near misses and disappointing campaigns.
Social media platforms were flooded with congratulatory messages from football enthusiasts and supporters’ groups, with many sharing videos of emotional reactions and all‑night celebrations.
Arsenal, managed by Mikel Arteta, remain one of the most widely supported English clubs in Nigeria, boasting a large and passionate fan base.
The title win sparked widespread excitement among supporters, many of whom said the moment was worth more than two decades of waiting.
