Victor Osimhen’s transfer saga has taken another significant twist after Atletico Madrid cooled their interest in the Galatasaray striker, Afrik Foot reports.

Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have all been linked to the former Napoli striker, but Okan Buruk’s side are firm in their decision not to part ways with the 27-year-old.

Galatasaray’s position has not shifted. The Turkish champions signed Osimhen permanently from Napoli last summer in a deal worth €75m, a Turkish transfer record, and have placed a valuation of €130m to €150m on the striker this summer.

Transfer insider Nevzat Dindar, speaking from direct conversations with the club’s president, was unequivocal, stating that the club is not considering a sale.

Osimhen himself has publicly pledged his commitment to Galatasaray, expressing his desire to return with the same hunger next season.

However, Dindar added the crucial caveat that should Osimhen himself decide he wants to leave, Galatasaray will not accept anything below €150 million.

Atletico’s rejection narrows the field

Atletico Madrid walked away from the race not because of Osimhen’s footballing ability, which has never been in question, but due to concerns over character management within Diego Simeone’s tightly controlled dressing room.

It is a significant development because Atletico’s interest had been framed partly by the Julian Alvarez situation, with the Argentine striker’s desire to leave creating a void that Osimhen seemed ideally suited to fill. With Atletico now out, that chain reaction has been broken.

Barcelona, meanwhile, remains handicapped by financial constraints despite their Alvarez pursuit.

Two clubs best placed to sign Victor Osimhen this summer

Paris Saint-Germain represent the most financially straightforward suitor in the transfer market. The Ligue 1 champions operate with a level of financial firepower that makes €150m a manageable outlay.

Their need for a proven centre-forward has been well-documented since Mbappe’s departure to Real Madrid. PSG have consistently demonstrated a willingness to move quickly and decisively when they identify a target, and Osimhen, with his resume, would complement Luis Enrique’s project at the Parc des Princes.

A move to Paris would also give Osimhen the platform that his talent has always deserved, in a city and a club that would celebrate him as the poster boy of their ambitions.

Manchester United are the second club best positioned to make a move. The Red Devils view Osimhen as their dream signing, and are open to bringing the Nigerian to Old Trafford alongside Benjamin Šeško.

The club’s return to the Champions League gives them the platform Osimhen would need, and the prospect of playing in the Premier League, a league Osimhen has previously described as an ambition, adds a personal dimension to United’s pursuit.

Joshua Zirkzee’s expected departure creates the precise vacancy that Osimhen would fill, and Carrick’s system, built around high press and vertical transitions, suits the Nigerian’s game profile better than most.

Galatasaray’s resolve remains firm, and Osimhen’s public commitment to the club is genuine, but at €150 million, only a handful of clubs in world football can genuinely compete.
