Galatasaray are showing no signs of slowing down as they put together the ultimate plan to keep Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen at the club beyond this summer, Afrik-Foot reports.
The Turkish Süper Lig champions are now focused on adding a top-class creative midfielder who can provide more chances for the Super Eagles star in the 2026/27 season.
According to Turkish newspaper Fanatik, Galatasaray’s biggest dream signing is Manchester City playmaker Phil Foden. The report claims club president Dursun Özbek has given influential transfer specialist George Gardi full authority to explore a deal for the England international.
Gardi has played a major role in bringing several high-profile players to Istanbul in recent years and reportedly suggested Foden as the club’s next blockbuster signing. With the Manchester City star entering the final year of his contract and receiving less playing time last season, Galatasaray believe there may be a small opportunity to tempt him away from the Premier League.
A move for the player, who is valued at around €70 million, would be the second most expensive transfer in Turkish football history – just behind Victor Osimhen. Several top European clubs are also monitoring the England international, meaning Galatasaray face fierce competition if they hope to complete the deal.
The club’s transfer strategy is clear. After securing a top midfield dynamo in Lesley Ugochukwu, Galatasaray now want a creative engine capable of supplying Osimhen with regular scoring chances. Their recruitment team has drawn up an ambitious shortlist filled with players known for vision, passing and chance creation.
Five creative stars Galatasaray want behind Osimhen
Phil Foden remains the dream target. The England international is admired for his ability to unlock defences with clever passing, quick movement and excellent decision-making in the final third. If Galatasaray could somehow complete the transfer, Foden would instantly become iconic signing in the club’s history while giving Osimhen a constant source of quality service.
Bruno Fernandes has also emerged as another of Galatasaray’s most ambitious targets. The Manchester United captain is often ranked among Europe’s best attacking midfielders thanks to his vision, accurate through balls and ability to create goals from midfield. Reports in Turkey suggest Galatasaray have placed him on their shortlist, although his transfer fee, believed to be between €15 million and €30 million, together with his high salary, makes the move difficult.
Dani Olmo is another player high on Galatasaray’s wishlist. The Barcelona playmaker has repeatedly been linked with the Turkish champions as they search for a natural number 10. His creativity, intelligent movement and ability to deliver decisive passes make him an attractive option for a team looking to get the best out of Osimhen.
Tijjani Reijnders is valued for different reasons. The Dutch midfielder is known for progressing the ball quickly from midfield, breaking opposition lines with his passing and helping teams attack against deep defensive blocks. Galatasaray believe those qualities would give Osimhen more opportunities inside the penalty area.
The final name is Can Uzun, the talented Eintracht Frankfurt attacking midfielder who is regarded one of Europe’s brightest young talents. Head coach Okan Buruk is said to be a strong admirer of the youngster and reportedly wants him in his starting lineup. Galatasaray have been linked with offers worth between €25 million and €35 million, while Frankfurt are believed to value the player closer to €50-60 million.
