Jose Mourinho is reportedly demanding the signing of Victor Osimhen as a key condition while negotiations continue over a possible return to Real Madrid for the upcoming season, Afrik-Foot reports.
The Portuguese coach is once again being linked with the Santiago Bernabeu after another disappointing campaign for the Spanish giants.
Real Madrid’s 2‑0 loss to Barcelona at Camp Nou on Sunday confirmed a second consecutive season without a major trophy and handed Barca their 29th La Liga title.
The latest Clasico defeat heightened pressure on the Madrid boardroom after a season that quickly slipped away. However, the former Bayer Leverkusen boss struggled to steady the team during a difficult first half of the campaign and was dismissed in January. Former Madrid defender Álvaro Arbeloa was then appointed as interim manager until the season’s end.
Now, club president Florentino Pérez is seeking another rebuild, and Mourinho has emerged as the frontrunner. Reports from Spain and England indicate that negotiations are already underway, with Madrid prepared to trigger the Benfica manager’s €3 million release clause.
If the deal materialises, Mourinho would return to the club he led from 2010 to 2013, a period in which he captured La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup while assembling one of Europe’s most formidable sides.
But the 63‑year‑old is not only discussing coaching matters. Reports from Turkish outlet Fanatik, citing French sources, claim Mourinho has specifically requested the acquisition of Osimhen as part of his conditions for taking over the Madrid bench.
