Argentinian midfielder Valentin Barco will join Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano reported that Chelsea has reached an agreement to sign Barco.

RC Strasbourg has consented to release the player after a season of impressive progress.

Barco has already accepted the move, and personal terms have been settled ahead of a possible summer transfer.

The 21‑year‑old star moved to BlueCo‑owned Strasbourg on a permanent deal for a fee of £8.7 million last summer.

Whether Barco will receive playing time under Chelsea’s new manager, Xabi Alonso, next season remains to be seen.
