Uzodimma and Ododo Rally Igbo and Kogi Communities in Ekiti for Oyebanji’s Re‑election.

Governor Hope Uzodima of Imo State, the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, and Kogi State Governor Alhaji Usman Ododo met on the weekend to rally Igbo and Kogi residents in Ekiti State behind Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s bid for a second term in the June 20 governorship election.

The two governors addressed separate audiences in Ado Ekiti, urging support for Oyebanji, whom they called “an impactful leader whose administration has positively affected the lives of the people of Ekiti.”

Uzodima spoke at the annual cultural day of the Igbo community, held at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, while Ododo spoke at a stakeholders’ engagement organized by the Ebira, Igala and Okun peoples to strengthen their partnership with the Ekiti State government and to publicly endorse Oyebanji’s re‑election.

Speaking to the Igbo community, Uzodima described Oyebanji as a bridge‑builder and an inclusive leader who has created a peaceful, business‑friendly environment for all residents, regardless of ethnic or religious background. He urged the community to reciprocate the goodwill by giving the governor overwhelming support on election day.

Uzodima said continuity would allow Oyebanji to consolidate his developmental gains and maintain the prevailing atmosphere of peace, unity and prosperity in Ekiti State.

“My dear good people of Igbo indigenes in Ekiti State, I bring greetings from the National leadership of our party APC, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said. “I am here not only to witness this annual cultural day but also to thank you for supporting our party, because the support you have given to Governor Oyebanji is the support you are also giving to APC and the President.”

“Our presence here today is to act as a witness that all the good things the Governor has done for you in Ekiti are appreciated, and what we are saying today is that because Governor Oyebanji has done well, he should continue for the next four years. I want to assure you that for the next four years, he will double the inclusion he has given to you during the first four years,” he added.

At the forum organized by Kogi indigenes at Eage’s Hall, Ododo praised the governor for his commitment to unity, security and development, noting that the Kogi community in Ekiti has enjoyed a harmonious relationship with the state government. He called on Kogi residents across Ekiti to remain steadfast in their support for the governor’s re‑election.

In response, Oyebanji thanked the Igbo and Kogi communities for their support and contributions to Ekiti’s economic and social development. He assured them that his administration would continue to provide a conducive environment for businesses and residents to thrive.
