US to deport Nigerian man accused of rape, kidnapping, domestic violence

The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced that it will deport Ayodeji Olamide Ajayi, a Nigerian national, on the grounds of visa overstay and a series of criminal convictions.

ICE says Ajayi entered the United States in 2007 on a student visa. After leaving school, he remained in the country, thereby violating the terms of his stay.

In a post shared on X on Monday night, June 22, 2026, ICE described Ajayi’s criminal history as “lengthy” and listed several offenses, including domestic violence, trespassing, intimidation, and obstruction. The agency also cited more serious charges of kidnapping, rape, and family neglect.

The agency added, “Thanks to POTUS’ commitment to getting criminal illegal aliens out of this country, Ajayi will be leaving the United States shortly.” ICE said the deportation is part of the administration’s broader effort to remove undocumented immigrants with criminal records, referring to Ajayi as a “criminal illegal alien.”

ICE did not disclose the jurisdictions where the alleged offenses were committed or the current status of the rape and kidnapping allegations. Ajayi’s case follows a series of immigration enforcement actions across the United States targeting non‑citizens who have criminal histories.
