Unity Cup final: Super Eagles tipped for glory over Jamaica in London

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are expected to defeat Jamaica in the 2026 Unity Cup final in London later today, according to Olympic‑winning coach Jo Bonfrere, as reported by Afrik Foot.

Eric Chelle’s side performed strongly in the semi‑final against Zimbabwe, scoring twice against Kiatano Tembo’s team.

Femi Azeez emerged as the standout performer, netting a brace on his debut. The Millwall winger said he wants to contribute more for the Green and White colours of Nigeria, hoping to play at AFCON 2027.

Jo Bonfrere backs Super Eagles for Unity Cup title

The Super Eagles beat Jamaica in the 2025 final at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford, and the Dutch coach believes they can repeat that success at the Valley this evening.

“Super Eagles are a strong team, not only in Africa but in the world,” the 79‑year‑old said to Complete Sports.

“They have excellent players — Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Alex Iwobi — all playing in top European clubs.”

“Yes, I am confident. I have no fears. With good organisation and tactics, Super Eagles can beat any team,” Bonfrere concluded.

Past meetings support the Super Eagles’ advantage over the Reggae Boyz. Nigeria have beaten Jamaica three times in four encounters.
