Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle praised Man of the Match Femi Azeez for his goal‑scoring debut, while also highlighting areas where the Millwall winger could improve.
Azeez made a dream debut for the Super Eagles, netting twice in the 2‑0 Unity Cup semi‑final win over Zimbabwe’s Warriors at the Valley on Tuesday.
The Millwall winger opened the scoring in the fifth minute after a pass from Terem Moffi, and Moffi also set up Azeez for the second goal two minutes after the hour mark.
Chelle on Azeez
“He scored two goals, I congratulate him, but he lost a lot of balls, so I’m not happy with him even though he recovered some of those balls,” Éric Chelle said at the post‑match media briefing.

“I also asked them to do the high pressing for the whole 90 minutes.”

The coach also lauded his experimental side for “playing like a team that had been together for six months or even a year,” insisting they fully deserved the victory.
“It was not easy for some of the players to play for the first time against a strong team like Zimbabwe,” he added.
“But this is a friendly, not a World Cup or AFCON qualifier. All the same we deserved our victory and I am happy for the result.”
