Femi Azeez scored twice on his debut as the Super Eagles beat Zimbabwe’s Warriors 2‑0 in the Unity Cup semi‑final on Tuesday night.

Azeez opened the scoring for Nigeria with a superb shot from outside the box in the sixth minute, after a pass from Terem Moffi.

The Super Eagles dominated the first half, limiting their opponents to only a few chances.

Philip Otele, Alhassan Yusuf and Moffi missed opportunities to double Nigeria’s lead before the break.

Zimbabwe took control of the game in the second half, but the Super Eagles’ defence held firm under the pressure.

The second goal came two minutes after the hour mark, with Azeez slotting home inside the box from a superb pass by Otele.

Arthur Okonkwo made a superb save 20 minutes from time to deny Zimbabwe a chance to come back.

Nigeria will face either India or Jamaica in the final at The Valley on Saturday.
