The Board of Directors of Unilever Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment of Modupe Femi-Okunbanjo as director of the company effective June 30, 2026. The announcement follows the approval of Ibrahim Sodipe’s resignation from the board as contained in a notice sent to Nigeria Exchange Limited and the investing public, signed by the company secretary, Peter Dada.
Femi-Okunbanjo currently serves as the Financial Controller for Nigeria and Regional Controls Lead for West Africa at Unilever Nigeria PLC. In her role, she oversees financial governance, regulatory compliance and enterprise risk management. With over 15 years of experience in the fast-moving consumer goods and telecommunications sectors, she has successfully steered finance teams, shaped strategic initiatives and strengthened risk management frameworks.
She has been instrumental in embedding ethical leadership and data-driven decision-making at the board level, ensuring that organisations remain resilient amid shifting market dynamics. Recognised as an accomplished finance and governance leader, she has established a strong reputation for elevating financial reporting standards, advancing audit excellence and enhancing governance frameworks, positioning organisations for sustainable growth and long-term value creation.
