Unai Emery cautions Aston Villa over two Freiburg players ahead of the Europa League final

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has cautioned his side about two players from Freiburg, Matthias Ginter and Christian Günter, ahead of the UEFA Europa League final.

Villa will face the Bundesliga club in the final on Wednesday in Istanbul.

During his pre‑match press conference on Tuesday, Emery singled out Ginter and Günter, noting that the duo are having a strong season.

“I played against Freiburg with Sevilla 12 years ago, and two of their players from that game are still there: (Matthias) Ginter and (Christian) Günter,” Emery said.

“They are having a very good season. Above all, they have a clear idea, a style that defines them very well.”

“So, Freiburg are in the final because they deserve to be and because they are competing very well.”
