Minister of Works Dave Umahi said he believes God will continue to guide President Bola Tinubu in leading Nigeria until 2031, helping the country advance its development agenda.
Umahi made the comments on Thursday while touring ongoing bridge projects in Lagos State, including the Carter Bridge, which is slated to begin reconstruction next week.
The minister said the Tinubu administration would keep receiving divine support to tackle national challenges, especially insecurity.
"The same God that brought him is going to be there to solve all the problems," Umahi told the crowd, urging Nigerians to back the current administration in its efforts to address security concerns across the country.
He added that no leader wants instability during their tenure, but a responsible government must confront problems head‑on when they arise.
"There is no leader who will not want his reign to be peaceful, but when crises come, the leader must confront them. That is exactly what we are doing," he said.
Umahi further explained that whether security challenges are politically motivated or not, he believes Tinubu will be granted the wisdom and strength needed to overcome them and to address other national issues.
The minister also expressed confidence that the current administration will finish all projects it has started.
"Your hands that have started this will complete it," Umahi said, adding that the government remains confident that Tinubu’s leadership continues to enjoy divine favour.
Regarding the Carter Bridge project, Umahi revealed that the reconstruction is expected to be finished within three years, fitting within the administration’s five‑year plan.
