After Sean Strickland earned a split‑decision win over Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 328 on Sunday, former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman said the Russian‑Emirati mixed‑martial‑arts fighter may no longer appear invincible in future contests.
Prior to the event, Usman told his podcast with Henry Cejudo that Strickland’s evasive defensive tactics and difficulty to be hit could trouble Chimaev, even though he still believed Chimaev could dictate the pace.
Strickland ultimately prevailed with scores of 48‑47, 47‑48, 48‑47, ending Chimaev’s unbeaten run and claiming the middleweight title.

In his post‑fight comments, Usman noted that Chimaev’s approach might be more vulnerable to upcoming opponents.
“How incredible it is to see how far Khamzat Chimaev has gotten by training himself. A big key factor is there is never any change in the way this man fights.
“There’s never any blend of the style. This is something that hurts Khamzat Chimaev.”
