Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has created a high‑level Consensus Committee on Party Harmonisation and Aspirants’ Engagement. The move is intended to reinforce internal democracy, foster cohesion among party members, and maintain unity ahead of upcoming elections.
According to a statement released by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Ahmed Maiyaki, the committee will deepen mediation and constructive dialogue among aspirants throughout the state, while promoting mutual understanding, political stability, and consensus‑building within the party.
Maiyaki noted that the committee will engage with aspirants, party leaders and other key stakeholders to facilitate amicable resolutions in constituencies where multiple interests intersect.
He added that the body will also encourage voluntary withdrawals where necessary, in the broader interest of party harmony and electoral success.
“The constitution of this Committee reflects the commitment of Governor Uba Sani to inclusive leadership, internal cohesion and the preservation of unity within the party,” the statement said.
The statement indicates that Deputy Governor Dr Hadiza Balarabe will chair the committee, while the party secretary, Arch. Abubakar Rabiu, will serve as secretary.
