Governor Uba Sani has confirmed the appointment of Alhaji Suleiman Sa’ad Abubakar as the new Emir of Kagarko.

A statement released by Commissioner for Local Government Alhaji Sadiq Mamman Lagos on Monday announced that the appointment takes effect immediately.

The new emir, who previously served as San Turakin Kagarko, was chosen after a rigorous selection process.

Commissioner Mamman said that a pool of candidates was evaluated by the kingmakers of the Kagarko Emirate Council, and Suleiman was ultimately selected.

The statement noted that the appointment follows the death of the late second‑class Emir of Kagarko, His Royal Highness Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, who passed away on January 8, 2026 after six years of reign.

Governor Sani has congratulated the new emir on ascending the throne of his forefathers.

Commissioner Mamman added that arrangements for the formal installation ceremony and the presentation of the staff of office will be communicated in due course.

“The Governor also charged the new Emir to steadfastly promote peace and harmony within his communities,” the Commissioner said.
