U-17 WWCQ: Flamingos To Face Benin In Final Round

Nigeria’s Flamingos will face the Benin Republic in the final qualifying round for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Akeem Busari’s side demolished Guinea 11‑0 on aggregate in the second round.

The Flamingos won the first leg 5‑0, then sealed their dominance with a 6‑0 victory at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Sunday.

Flamingos Dominate Guinea

Oluwakemi Adegbuyi, who scored in Abidjan, opened the scoring in the 9th minute and added a second in the 32nd minute. Captain Chidi Harmony, also a scorer in Abidjan, netted twice in the 21st and 34th minutes.

The team continued to pile on goals as Queen Joseph found the net in the 23rd minute, and Prescious Oscar capped the tally with a sixth goal in the 70th minute.

Benin Overcome Sierra Leone

Benin secured a place in the final round after a 5‑1 aggregate win over Sierra Leone.

The Amazons took a 3‑0 lead at home in the first leg and then won 2‑1 away in the return fixture.

The first‑leg matches will be played from 3‑5 July, while the second legs will take place from 10‑12 July.

The four winners after the third round will automatically represent Africa at the world U‑17 Women’s Football Cup finals later in the year.
