Nigeria’s Flamingos have arrived in Lomé, Togo, ahead of Saturday’s decisive 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup final qualifying round second-leg clash against Benin Republic’s Young Amazons.
The players and officials landed safely at the Gnassingbé Eyadéma International Airport on Friday, and later checked into the prestigious Hôtel Le Pélican, where they will be based for the crucial encounter.
Akeem Busari’s side held their first training session on Friday night as they intensified preparations for the crucial encounter.

The return leg will be played at the Stade de Kégué, with kick-off expected to attract keen interest as both West African rivals battle for a place at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
The Flamingos head into the encounter holding a slender 3-2 advantage from the first leg played at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne last weekend.
Queen Joseph, Shakirat Moshood Adegbuyi, and Ifeanyi Kindness were on target for Nigeria, while Benin kept the tie alive with two crucial away goals.
The winners on aggregate will book one of Africa’s tickets to the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will be staged in Morocco in October.
