The names of teachers and dozens of school children taken hostage by armed terrorists in Oyo State have been officially released to the public. The youngest victim is Christianah Akanbi, a 2‑year‑old girl.
The disclosure has reignited anger and fear among residents of the affected communities.
The list, made public on Tuesday, details the scope of the abduction that struck three communities – Ahoro‑Esinele, Yawota and Oniya – with additional victims from Alawusa Community.

— Mrs. Mary Akanbi – Teacher, Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School
Mr. Michael Oyedokun is listed as “Late” because he was killed by his abductors. A viral video showed a gruesome scene of his beheading.

The release followed intense pressure from parents, community leaders and concerned citizens demanding transparency from authorities. Many of the victims are very young children, with the youngest being Christianah Akanbi, aged just two.
Security sources say efforts to locate and rescue the victims are ongoing, though no further details have been released.
Community leaders have called for urgent government intervention, stronger security in rural areas and immediate action to bring the perpetrators to justice.
