Trumpsays the United States will defeat Iran and a port blockade would be completely effective.

The United States President, Donald Trump, said that his country will defeat the Islamic Republic of Iran “peacefully or otherwise.”

Trump made the comment while answering reporters at the White House who asked whether he believes Chinese President Xi Jinping, whom he is scheduled to meet later this week in China, could assist with Iran.

He said: “No, I don’t think we need any help with Iran. We’ll win it one way or the other. We’ll win it peacefully or otherwise.”

“Their navy’s gone, their air force is gone, every single element of their war machine is gone.”

The US President also said that the blockade of Iranian ports is “100 percent effective.”

“Well, we’re going to see, and we’ll be thinking about it on the flight [to China], and we’ll be thinking about it for the next little while,” Trump said.

He reiterated his claim that the US has defeated Iran’s military “very soundly.”

“One way or another, it’s going to work out very well,” he added.
