U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States does not require assistance from China in its conflict with Iran.

He made the comment during a press briefing on Tuesday after being asked whether Beijing should intervene to help end the war with Iran.

“I don’t think we need any help with Iran,” he said.

When questioned whether Chinese President Xi Jinping could play a role in reviving a ceasefire, the president replied that he would welcome any assistance Xi might provide.

The crisis began on February 28 when the United States, together with Israel, launched an attack on Iran that resulted in the death of its Supreme Leader and other officials.
