United States President Donald Trump has sharply criticized American media outlets for their coverage of the Iran conflict, which began on February 28.
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump warned that even if Iran were to surrender entirely, the so‑called “fake news” media would still portray Tehran as having achieved a victory over the United States.
Daily Post reports that the Republican has repeatedly targeted the press for its reporting on his campaign in Iran.
He has accused U.S. outlets of underestimating the effectiveness of American strikes on the country.
Earlier this month, the president said he believed it was treasonous for the media not to report that the United States was winning the war in Iran.
According to him, it was “virtual treason” when reports suggested that the Iranian enemy was performing well militarily against America.
“If Iran surrenders, admits that its navy is gone and resting at the bottom of the sea, its air force is no longer with us, and its entire military walks out of Tehran, drops weapons, and raises hands in surrender while wildly waving a white flag, and if its entire remaining leadership signs all necessary documents of surrender and admits defeat to the great power and force of the magnificent USA, the failing New York Times, the China Street Journal, WSJ, corrupt and now irrelevant CNN, and all other members of the fake news media will headline that Iran had a masterful and brilliant victory over the United States of America, it wasn’t even close,” he wrote.
“The Dumacrats and media have totally lost their way. They have gone absolutely crazy,” Trump added.
