The incident was reported in a post shared on X on Friday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

According to the post, the event occurred at about 9:30 a.m. on Thursday near Jwak village, when troops answered a distress call about suspected criminals attempting to snatch a motorcycle from its rider.

The victim, identified as Shuaibu Ayuba, was reportedly attacked by the suspects before the troops arrived.

Security sources said the soldiers’ rapid response forced the attackers to abandon their plan and flee into nearby bushes.

“The swift intervention by the troops disrupted the attack and the suspects escaped,” the sources said.

Ayuba was rescued and immediately taken to a medical centre in Mangu for treatment. Sources added that efforts were underway to track down the fleeing suspects, and that security patrols had been increased in the area to prevent further attacks.
