Troops of the Nigerian Army rescued three kidnapped victims during a clearance operation in Sakaba Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The information was released by security analyst and counter‑insurgency expert Zagazola Makama in a post shared via his X handle.

Security sources cited in the report said the operation was carried out at about 11:48 a.m. on May 30 by troops of CSI Battalion III in collaboration with vigilantes and forest rangers.

The joint security team was conducting a patrol at the Kharisin hunting ground when suspected terrorists spotted the advancing troops and fled the area.

During the escape, the suspects reportedly abandoned their captives, allowing the successful rescue of three kidnapped victims.

The rescued victims were immediately taken into custody for medical attention and a preliminary investigation.

Security personnel have since intensified patrols and search operations in the area to locate the fleeing suspects and prevent further criminal activity.

The operation is part of ongoing military efforts to dismantle criminal hideouts, combat insecurity, and enhance the safety of residents in Kebbi State and neighbouring border communities.
