The Katsina State Government confirmed on Wednesday that, after ongoing operations to locate and arrest the notorious bandit leader Kachalla Muhammadu Fulani and his gang, Nigerian Army troops rescued four kidnapped individuals.
Dr. Nasir Mu’azu, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Katsina State, identified the rescued victims as Musa Yakuba, 62; Alhaji Sa’adu Dayi, 68; Mukhtar Danja, 36; and Salisu Danja, 50. He said the men were freed during sustained military operations in areas where the criminals are believed to be active.
The statement added that the rescued victims were immediately given medical examinations after sustaining gunshot injuries while in captivity.
The state government praised the Nigerian military and other security agencies involved in the rescue missions.
It also reassured residents that their safety would be protected, noting that security forces would continue to pursue Kachalla Muhammadu Fulani and other criminal elements.
