Troops of Operation HADIN KAI rescued 92 kidnapped individuals during a mission against suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP militants in Borno State, according to a post shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Sunday.
The operation, carried out on Saturday, involved the 135 Special Forces Battalion stationed at Echo 1, Dutse Kura, along the Buratai‑Kamuya road in Biu Local Government Area.
Sources said that surveillance detected suspicious activity, revealing militants transporting civilians and vehicles into nearby bush paths. A Quick Reaction Force was immediately dispatched, and additional troops from the 27 Task Force Brigade joined the pursuit, chasing the fleeing militants toward the Mangari‑Dora general area.
“During the operation, troops engaged the terrorists, forcing them to abandon the kidnapped victims and the vehicles before escaping further into the bush,” Makama said.
The operation was successful: the victims were rescued and the vehicles left behind by the attackers were recovered.
