The Nigerian Army reports that, over the past 24 hours, its forces have eliminated two terrorists, rescued four kidnapped individuals, and thwarted pipeline attacks in coordinated operations across Taraba, Kogi, and Rivers states.
These updates were released to reporters on Tuesday in Abuja.
In Taraba, troops from 93 Battalion, stationed at Akate in the Donga Local Government Area, engaged suspected terrorists in a forested area and killed two of them. Items recovered from the scene included an AK‑47 rifle, ammunition, magazines, mobile phones, and other personal effects.
In Kogi, 21 Battalion, working with local vigilantes, rescued four kidnapped passengers along the Anyigba–Itobe road in Ofu Local Government Area. The victims had reportedly been abandoned by their captors while attempting to cross a seasonal stream, a situation that intensified under pressure from advancing troops. The military says efforts continue to rescue other victims still in captivity.
The report also states that 12 Brigade troops successfully repelled an ambush on the Kabba–Okene road while withdrawing from a prior operation, forcing the assailants to flee with gunshot wounds.
In Rivers, five Battalion troops, acting on credible intelligence, disrupted an attempt by suspected vandals to detonate a crude oil pipeline in Ahoada West Local Government Area. The swift response prevented the operation from being carried out, and the suspects fled the scene.
