Troops arrest suspected kidnappers and recover AK‑47 rifles in Borno.

Troops of Joint Task Force North East, operating under Operation HADIN KAI, have arrested suspected kidnappers and seized AK‑47 rifles and ammunition in Borno.

In a statement released on its platform on Friday via WhatsApp, the force said it had acted on credible intelligence and carried out a well‑coordinated operation along a known criminal corridor in Magumeri. The operation resulted in the arrest of five individuals suspected of belonging to a kidnapping syndicate that has terrorised civilians in the area.

The troops also recovered two AK‑47 rifles, magazines and ammunition. Investigations have linked the suspects to kidnapping and other criminal activities in Borno State.

The arrested individuals are currently in custody and are cooperating with security agencies to aid further investigations aimed at apprehending other members of the syndicate and dismantling its support networks.
