Sector 7 troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), working together with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), arrested a suspected kidnapper in Kamuru village, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

Lake Chad region counter‑insurgency and security expert Zagazola Makama disclosed the development in a post on X.

Makama said the arrest occurred at approximately 0330 hours on 12 May during a coordinated operation in the area.

The suspect, identified as 45‑year‑old Mr. Husaini Jibrin, was reportedly detained in Kamuru village for alleged involvement in a kidnapping that took place in the Angwan Ali community on 26 April 2026, also within the same local government area.

According to Makama, the suspect is believed to have participated in planning and carrying out the abduction, which had raised security concerns in neighboring communities.

Makama added that authorities recovered a mobile phone and N10,000 in cash from the suspect.

He noted that the suspect remains in custody and is being interrogated as part of ongoing investigations to dismantle kidnapping networks in the region.

“Troops have stepped up surveillance and patrols across vulnerable communities in southern Kaduna to curb criminal activity and enhance public safety,”

“Operation Enduring Peace continues to carry out joint operations with local security agencies and community‑based structures to address insecurity in affected areas,” he said.
