Tinubu Wins Zamfara APC Presidential Primary with 321,579 Votes

President Bola Tinubu secured 321,579 votes on Saturday, winning the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary in Zamfara.

According to DAILY POST, Tinubu is seeking the APC’s nomination for the 2027 general elections.

Governor Dauda Lawal, the Chief Returning Officer for the primary, announced the result in Gusau after compiling the tallies from all 14 local government areas.

Lawal said, “According to the results presented, Tinubu secured an overwhelming majority of the votes, polling a total of 321,579 votes, while his opponent, Stanley Osifor, scored 42 votes.”

He added, “The total number of registered APC members in the state stood at 365,796, with 322,435 accredited voters participating in the exercise. A total of 321,620 votes were cast during the presidential primary election.”

Lawal highlighted that the results showed Tinubu’s broad support across the state, defeating his opponent by a wide margin in every council.

“Based on the results collated and presented, I hereby declare President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the APC presidential primary election in Zamfara State,” he declared.

The governor said the results would be forwarded to the party’s national headquarters in Abuja for further action and thanked APC supporters for the high turnout, pledging to deliver the results to the APC national secretariat.

Dr. Mahmud Isah, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, led a team of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials who monitored the exercise.

Senators Ikra Aliyu‑Bilbis and Sahabi Ya’u, representing Zamfara Central and Zamfara North, served as returning officers and presented results from their respective zones to the chief returning officer. Results from Zamfara West Senatorial District were submitted by the local government chairmen in the zone.
