President Bola Tinubu secured victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries held on Saturday in Ringim Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
Tinubu received every vote cast in the 10 wards of the local government, defeating his opponent in the primary.
Dr. Surajo Musa, the presiding officer for the LGA, announced that Tinubu won the direct primaries with 15,670 votes, while his rival, Dr. Stanley Osifo, received zero votes.
The direct primaries were conducted under the supervision of INEC officials, security agencies, and other party stakeholders.
The council chairman, who also serves on the primary election committee, praised the high turnout of party members.
He said, “This election is a clear testimony that our people have confidence in President Tinubu and are ready to vote for him in the coming secondary election.”
The chairman also confirmed that Governor Umar Namadi’s pledge to deliver about two million votes to Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election will be honored.
