Tinubu Wins Imo APC Presidential Primary, Secures 582,823 Votes

President Bola Tinubu won the Imo APC presidential primary with a decisive margin, receiving 582,823 of the 583,653 votes cast.

Gov. Hope Uzodimma announced the result in Owerri, noting that Tinubu’s opponent, Mr. Tunde Osifo, secured only 103 votes.

Uzodimma said the totals were compiled from all 305 wards in the state’s 27 local government areas.

He praised the peaceful conduct of the exercise, stating, “I will now forward the collated results to the national headquarters in Abuja for onward processing and final declaration.”

He also commended party members for their maturity and discipline during the primary.

Uzodimma encouraged unregistered supporters to join the party, saying, “We want our membership strength to grow into millions so that victory will be assured.”

The governor reported that the official register submitted to INEC listed 647,231 registered party members, a figure that excludes those who registered after the submission.

Earlier, the governor, who participated in the direct primary from his Omuma Ward in Oru East LGA, praised Tinubu’s achievements and policies.

He said Tinubu deserves a second term, adding that he has laid the foundation for the country’s economic prosperity.

Uzodimma expressed optimism that Nigeria will overcome poverty and economic hardship under the current administration. (NAN)
