President Bola Tinubu returned to Abuja on Tuesday evening after spending the Eid‑el‑Kabir holiday in Lagos, where he engaged in a series of political, governmental and national activities. The President’s official aircraft, Nigeria Air Force 1, landed at the Presidential Wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 5:17 pm. He was welcomed by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, Chief of Staff Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu, and other senior officials.

During the Sallah break, the President met Vice President Kashim Shettima and several groups for the traditional Sallah homage, including Senate leadership headed by Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio. Delegates from the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, led by Chairman and Governor of Kwara State AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as well as APC stakeholders from Oyo State—including governorship candidate Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli—and APC candidates for the House of Representatives and State House of Assembly from Lagos State, also visited him.

On Monday, Tinubu attended the International Fleet Review at Eko Atlantic City Waterfront, part of the 70th Anniversary celebrations of the Nigerian Navy. He inaugurated three naval vessels—NNS Oloibiri, NNS Mambila, and NNS Gurara—during the event. The same day, he hosted His Excellency Romuald Wadagni, President of the Republic of Benin, in a meeting that highlighted the enduring friendship, regional cooperation and economic partnership between the two countries.

Prior to the Eid‑el‑Kabir holiday, Tinubu had visited Lagos to take part in the All Progressives Congress primaries, where candidates for the state house of assembly, governorship, House of Representatives, senate and presidency were selected. He voted in Lagos at his own primary and was overwhelmingly endorsed nationwide by nearly 11 million voters as the party’s torchbearer for the 2027 presidential election.
