ABUJA – President Bola Tinubu extended congratulations to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji following his decisive win in Saturday's Ekiti State gubernatorial election.
He praised the citizens of Ekiti State for their peaceful and orderly conduct during the election and for placing their trust in Governor Oyebanji.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu also commended law‑enforcement agencies for preserving law and order.
He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to continue investing in the conduct of peaceful, free, fair, and credible elections as the Osun governorship election in August and the national general election next year approach.
Oyebanji’s overwhelming victory makes him the first governor in Ekiti State’s history to secure back‑to‑back re‑elections.
President Tinubu highlighted that Governor Oyebanji’s first term saw substantial progress in infrastructure, agriculture, youth employment, education, healthcare, and rural development under the BAO agenda.
The renewed mandate, therefore, signals a clear vote of confidence in continuity, stability, and people‑centred governance.
