Social Democratic Party presidential candidate Adewole Adebayo, who ran in 2023, has outlined how he believes President Bola Tinubu could be defeated in the 2027 election.
Adebayo said that mobilizing anger and stirring up crowds will not be enough to unseat Tinubu. Instead, he argues, a campaign must focus on the real problems that Nigerians face—issues the current administration has failed to resolve.
Speaking on Trust TV, Adebayo stated: “You can’t defeat Tinubu by rabble rousing and anger; you have to raise issues because he’s in charge of government and he’s not delivering, which is the objective analysis of it.”
He added, “A few people who are required to pretend like they don’t know, this is not the economy I prayed for four years ago. You can’t take me to be a lazy person because I have insufficient savings and I’m feeling it.”
Adebayo criticized the present economic climate, saying it is unsustainable for Nigerians as workers struggle to meet their expenses.
“I have seen a lot of people across the country who are citizens, who are qualified, working very hard, even government employees at the middle and upper level who can’t pay their bills,” he said.
