The Nigerian Army has detained three women suspected of collaborating with ISWAP terrorists during a raid in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
The arrest was announced in a post on X by Zagazola Makama, a counter‑insurgency and security specialist working in the Lake Chad region.
Makama explained that the suspects were seized after intercepted communications revealed plans to move a woman into a terrorist stronghold.
According to him, the 222 Battalion (Mechanised) carried out the operation at an internally displaced persons (IDP) camp in Konduga, where the suspects were taken based on intelligence findings.
The security expert said the women were allegedly involved in facilitating movement and communication between civilians and terrorist elements operating in the area.
He added that the military authorities have placed the three suspects in custody for further investigation and appropriate action.
“The operation is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt support networks and dismantle collaboration channels that aid terrorist activities in the North‑East,” Makama said.
“Investigations are underway to determine the extent of their involvement and any possible connections to other elements within the network,” he added.
