Three people die when bandits burn houses in Niger attack

The Niger Police Command confirmed that three people were killed in an attack by suspected bandits in Pissa village, Borgu Local Government Area.

SP Wasiu Abiodun, the command’s spokesperson, reported the incident on Saturday, stating that the bandits struck the village around 9:00 a.m.

Abiodun added that several houses were set on fire during the assault and that the military intervened to engage the attackers, although details of the confrontation remain unclear.

“The report received indicated that suspected bandits invaded Pissa village in Borgu LGA,” he said. “Three persons were reportedly killed during the attack and some houses were set ablaze. However, the military responded and engaged the terrorists, but further details are still sketchy,” Abiodun added.
