Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has claimed that the Federal High Court is determined to convict him in order to halt his presidential bid in the 2027 general elections.

Sowore made the allegation on Friday during a conversation with journalists following his court appearance.

He explained that a conviction automatically disqualifies a person from running for any political office in Nigeria.

The African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate said that justice could not be served in a court where his counsel was instructed by the judge to kneel.

“They want to convict me at all costs, so that I will be disqualified from contesting the 2027 election. That’s what it’s about,” Sowore said.

According to DAILY POST, Sowore is currently on trial for defamation charges against President Tinubu, a case brought by the Department of State Services (DSS).
