This folk wisdom prompts a compelling reflection: if a mere feather could yield such an extraordinary result, how much more magnificent would the outcome be if the entire eagle were made available?

 For the people of Esanland, this proverb perfectly mirrors the political and philanthropic journey of Senator Joseph Ikpea. It illustrates the immense democratic dividends to be gained when a proven community developer is elevated to a position of higher legislative authority.

 Before his historic victory in the Edo Central senatorial by-election—where he swept into office with over 105,000 votes to succeed Governor Monday Okpebholo—Joseph Ikpea had already proved his  mettle. Educational Development: His tenure as a member representing Edo Central on the Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB) and as Chairman of the Edo State Library Board highlighted his deep-seated commitment to human capital development and youth empowerment.  

 Resource Management: Serving as the Edo State Commissioner for Minerals, Oil, and Gas, he managed complex state portfolios with transparency and integrity, solidifying his reputation as a trusted administrator.  

 Through these various roles and his private philanthropic efforts, his contributions were impactful, meaningful, and widely felt across the five local government areas of Esanland. He was empowering his people and lifting communities when he didn’t hold an elective legislative seat.

Notably, he has raised urgent alarms on the floor of the Senate regarding the devastating Edo Central erosion crisis, aggressively demanding immediate federal 

intervention to protect endangered communities. Furthermore, his forward-thinking legislative focus is evidenced by his sponsorship of critical development bills, such as the National Centre for Renewable Energy, Ewato, Edo State (Establishment) Bill.
