TCN Compensates and Resettles Those Affected by Right‑of‑Way in Imo

A relief arrived for residents of more than 32 communities in Imo State when the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) began providing compensation and resettlement support to those who occupy the company’s right of way (ROW).

TCN also launched a skills‑acquisition and start‑up support program for roughly 62 individuals and a Small Business Empowerment Programme for 210 beneficiaries, part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative for the power sector.

While executing the resettlement action plan (RAP) and clearing the ROW for the planned reconstruction of a 138‑kilometre Alaoji‑to‑Onitsha 330 kV single‑circuit line into a 330 kV double‑circuit quad‑core transmission line, TCN Managing Director Dr. Ahmed Sule Abdulaziz thanked President Tinubu for backing the implementation and compensation of affected persons.

Represented by Project Manager (AfDB‑PIU TCN) Engr. Omobola Odusoga‑Sobo, who oversees the Nigeria Transmission Expansion Project Phase‑1 (NTEP‑1), the managing director praised the African Development Bank (AfDB) for ensuring the project’s full realization.
