The Taraba state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday denied claims that Governor Agbu Kefas had given automatic tickets to all current members of the National Assembly and the Taraba State House of Assembly for the 2027 general elections.

The party called the reports “misleading and inaccurate,” adding that no final decision has yet been made about the candidates for elective positions.

APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Aaron Artimas, said the process of selecting consensus candidates is still underway and follows the party’s internal democratic procedures.

He explained that Governor Kefas has set up three consensus committees in the state’s senatorial zones to facilitate consultations among party stakeholders and to ensure a transparent and peaceful selection process ahead of the elections.

Artimas noted that the committees were created to harmonise interests and build unity within the party, and that their recommendations have not yet been finalized or adopted by the party leadership.

He urged party members and the public to ignore speculations that automatic tickets or endorsements had already been granted to serving lawmakers.

The APC spokesman reaffirmed the party’s commitment to fairness, inclusiveness, and due process in choosing candidates for the 2027 polls.
