TAJBank Named Nigeria’s Largest Non-Interest Bank by Assets and Profit

TAJBank Limited, Nigeria’s innovative-driven non‑interest bank (NIB), has retained its position as the country’s largest ethical bank. This ranking is based on the approved financial statements of NIBs presented to regulatory authorities at the end of 2025.

The FY2025 financial position of TAJBank shows that the non‑interest lender solidified its leading stance in the sector, reflected in its Gross Assets, Profit figures, and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

During the year, TAJBank’s total assets increased to N1.34 trillion from N953 billion the previous year, a 41 percent rise. Gross earning assets surged to N847.706 billion from N467.377 billion in FY2024, an 81 percent increase. Total equity rose to N149.230 billion, a 144 percent jump from N61.250 billion in FY2024.

The approved FY2025 statement also shows that the bank posted N132.563 billion in gross earnings, up 71 percent from N77.550 billion in the prior year. Earnings reached N1.037 trillion, and Profit Before Tax (PBT) climbed 74 percent to N31.562 billion from N18.166 billion in FY2024. The Capital Adequacy Ratio stood at 30 percent.

Dr. Uju Ogubunka, a chartered banker and former Director‑General of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Nigeria (CIBN), noted that the bank’s KPIs demonstrate progress between 2024 and 2025.

Managing Director/CEO Mr. Hamid Joda said, “The improving performance of our bank is a clear demonstration of the board and management’s strong commitment to making TAJBank the best ethical bank in Nigeria by all assessment parameters.” He added, “We owe our shareholders, customers, regulatory authorities and workers a lot of gratitude for supporting our efforts to transform TAJBank into a global brand in the ethical banking space in the years ahead.”

Executive Director Mr. Sherif Idi stated, “The FY2025 performance of TAJBank is in furtherance of its corporate vision and mission. I want to assure all our stakeholders, particularly shareholders and customers, that our bank will continually promote their interests in line with our shared corporate values.”
