Two people were killed after a suspected terrorist attack on commuters traveling by motorcycle on Okoloke–Egbe Road in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The incident was reported on X by Zagazola Makama, a counter‑insurgency and security expert working in the Lake Chad region.
Makama said the attack took place at about 9:25 am on June 23 as the victims were heading toward Egbe Market.
He added that troops from the 12 Brigade, stationed at Okoloke and Okunran, responded quickly to the reports of the assault.
According to Makama, two commuters were killed, while several others managed to escape from the scene.
“The troops evacuated the bodies of the deceased and intensified patrols across the general area to prevent further attacks and deny the perpetrators freedom of action,” the security expert stated.
“Security agencies have continued efforts to track down those responsible for the attack,” he added.
