The 2025–26 Premier League title race, once thought to be a foregone conclusion, has become a back‑and‑forth contest between England’s two top clubs due to numerous twists in recent months.
Arsenal occupy the top spot and are poised to win their first league title in 22 years, yet Manchester City remain a close threat.
On Wednesday, Pep Guardiola’s side defeated Crystal Palace 3–0, narrowing the gap to just two points behind Arsenal and setting the stage for a dramatic final day.
With only two matches remaining for each club in the Premier League, the outcomes will determine the champions.
Elsewhere, the fight for Champions League spots has intensified, with sixth place possibly offering qualification. The relegation battle between two London clubs also adds drama.

According to si.com, Opta’s supercomputer projects the final Premier League table for the end of May.
Opta maintains that Arsenal will secure their first Premier League title in 22 years, assigning them 85.68% odds to finish top on the final matchday, particularly because their remaining fixtures are against Burnley and Crystal Palace.
Arteta’s squad is forecast to finish with roughly 83 points, a figure aided by three consecutive league victories. This would be the lowest points total for a title winner since Leicester City’s 81 points in 2015–16, though Arsenal are unlikely to mind.
City, however, will likely miss the championship by three points. After recovering from defeats to Brentford and Crystal Palace, a costly draw against Everton left them in second place, according to Opta.
